Additional and optional task statuses

When managing your activity by goals and/or projects, I usually have tasks that have intermediate statuses like: blocked/waiting for something, and sometimes I delegate it, and in addition I have a new related task to follow up. ATM I don't see option to manage this kind of tasks except with tags, but it's not the best option there is. I would prefer to have a separate statuses for such tasks.
But I think it should be optional so that people that don't require such feature could turn it on/off.

    Group by tag or optional task status

    I use tags to manage task status e.g blocked, deferred, partially complete. Whilst this isn’t ideal, it allows me to keep track of tasks where I am waiting on someone else to complete smth before I can close it out. Being able to group tasks by tag on the All Tasks and Upcoming views would be beneficial as I can see easily which tasks have been blocked and require me to follow up on another party and which tasks are already in progress.

    Having a optional status field that users can define custom status’ similar to Notion would be the ideal implementation. Then users could group by status on all task list views and even have the task inherit the colour of the various statuses that the user has defined.

    This issue was reported couple of years ago. It is very hard for me to know tasks which are blocked/waiting. Why it has not been done yet?

      Martin Markov: Hi! This doesn't align with our current goals, and we haven't seen increased visibility or interest in it. When deciding which features to work on, we typically prioritize based on these two factors. I understand how important this is to you, and I hope it gains more visibility in the future! For now, we can use tags as a workaround — hopefully, that helps!

    Hi everyone,

    Yesterday we released a new version of Akiflow with some huge changes!

    We removed the Snooze feature (no worries, no tasks are lost and ‘Someday’ it’s still there!) and added Time Frames, reviewing completely the Upcoming view, the Plan options and the Rituals (adding weekly ones as well).

    I'd like your feedback on the new timeframes, they should be a great help in having a place where to put tasks you don't know when to plan them for.

    For example, if I'm waiting for a reply I can plan a task for "This Week" and have that task always visible in the Upcoming Page, in Today Page footer and while doing the Rituals, without it cluttering my schedule or Inbox.

    Can't wait to hear your thoughts!

    Would be great to be able to flag things - right now using tags but it's not super helpful for quickviewing my day… Unless people are showing Blocked and IN PROGRESS types differently?
