This is a much needed feature for me.
But I hope you implement it in a way that works with integrations like Clickup and Todoist.
I want Akiflow to connect to Clickup planner as it has become the main planner for me because of their personal priorities. And then I use Akiflow to fill in rest of the tasks from other apps.
I would love to bring it all on the same app but currently it is not possible

I can't believe this is added in 2021 and is still not on the roadmap with the upvotes. I feel like Akiflow is getting stale with what they are giving users, and makes me question being a "believer". Meanwhile, Motion, Reclaim and even Sunsama are pushing in the right direction leaving Akiflow behind. At this moment in 2024, the ONLY advantage Aki has is integrations. The competition has everything else and more. Even with all of the integrations, Akiflow has just become a "dumb" Calendar IMO, as others innovate. Being similarly priced with the competition also hurts when there is no value-add.

Rob: Hi Rob, thanks for sharing your feedback.
We still believe in deciding consciously what and when to work on something, but we are considering many ways to help you do it faster.
The first AI feature will be released next week, and it'll help you categorize your tasks to plan them with ease. Can't wait to hear your feedback!

Stefania Does it work by itself as I got the update but don't see how it works even after reading the post

I initially thought I needed a full AI auto-schedule (like in Motion). I'm actually quite a fan of manually adding my tasks to the calendar. It makes the planning process more concious and deliberate. So I can wait on that.
But where the AI would come in handy is, when I need a to work on a task more time, that I could extend it and the bottom tasks would automatically be moved down. To do that automatically is quite a lot of work.

It's been over a month since the last post on this thread so I'm just hear to reactivate this request. Working with Aki to auto schedule tasks would be a HUGE win for this product. Even if, as other suggest, it is a toggleable option. Or even if I have to toggle "auto schedule this task" on the task-level itself.
I just went to go build an automation for this via the AI/Aki workflow (Auto-schedule tasks that are on my to-do list that have not been completed for at least 5 days) and I can't use AI for that. Which seems like a wild misstep. I have the task, the content, the duration of time to plan for it… why can't Aki simply use that information to schedule it into my calendar?

Jeson P is it on the roadmap? Because this is a key differentiator between Aki and motion. And though motion has poor Ux/Ui, if Akiflow is not planning on incorporating this within this year, then I’m moving my work elsewhere.

Please add Auto-rescheduling.
If a task takes longer or shorter, it should automatically reschedule the other tasks.

I agree with many below, that this feature will soon be essential for me to stay an Akiflow customer.
Also disagree with the “deciding consciously” argument that Stefania keeps making here. Imagine I hired a great human personal assistant to make my day schedules. I could give the assistant ground rules which would lead to similar (or better) scheduling decisions. They would still be made "consciously", but just outsourced to a different brain, so I can use mine for more important things. I could furthermore choose to review the schedule my PA makes, and adjust stuff consciously, also helping the PA learn and improve. Today’s AI can do all of this as well.
And finally, some people (like me with ADD) are actually bad at making conscious decisions about prioritization :) So I would be happy to outsource that to a smart human or effective machine.

Stefania I appreciate the empathy and open-mindedness when listening to users and customers.
Update from my end: By now, I've switched to Motion even though I have about 9 months paid left on Akiflow. To me, Motion's UI is quite bad and full of friction in scheduling and managing tasks. But, the killer feature is the AI (re)scheduling: that I don't have to worry whether the right stuff is scheduled correctly in my day, and I can ask the AI to automatically reassign stuff based on how my day changes. Honestly, it just removes a lot of clutter from my headspace and potential task anxiety. Just like having a really competent human assistant.
If Akiflow launched an automated scheduling feature that was about 60% as good as Motion, I would probably switch back to Akiflow, because I otherwise love the product.
From experience doing product at startups, I know it's impossible to please everyone. I'm sure you're deliberate about which customer types, needs, and use cases you focus on. Just sharing this as 1 data point.
