AkiFlow task creation in New Outlook reply and compose windows
look task generation
Support AkiFlow task creation in the New Outlook Desktop reply experience. When reading an email, the AkiFlow button is available on the main Outlook ribbon and a task can be created from the email, but once Reply is clicked and a response is being composed, AkiFlow is no longer available. Many actionable tasks become apparent while composing a reply rather than while initially reading the email.
Real examples:
Example 1: Country Operations
An email from a country optical manager requests guidance on pricing. While drafting the response, the need arises to:
Review pricing data
Meet with the buyer
Check margin implications
This is exactly when an AkiFlow task should be created, but the integration is no longer visible.
Example 2: Supplier Follow-up
Replying to a supplier asking for updated quotations, while composing the reply the immediate need is to create:
Follow up on supplier quote in 7 days
This is a natural workflow moment for task creation.
Example 3: Executive Delegation
Replying to a direct report:
Please send me the updated sales recovery plan by Friday.
At the moment the reply is sent, a task should be created:
Review sales recovery plan on Friday
Again, AkiFlow is unavailable in the reply experience.
Suggested enhancement: support AkiFlow task creation in:
Inline replies within New Outlook Desktop
Reply All
Forward
Pop-out reply windows
New email compose windows
A particularly valuable feature would be a "Reply and Create Task" flow:
User clicks "Reply and Create Task"
AkiFlow automatically captures:
Email subject
Email link
Sender
Conversation thread
User assigns due date
Email can optionally be archived automatically
For users processing large volumes of email, this would significantly improve task capture and reduce workflow friction.

Hi John, our Outlook add-in currently supports creating tasks while reading an email, but not while composing a reply. That being said, you can already capture and plan a task while composing your email using Akiflow’s global shortcut, Cmd+E on Mac or Ctrl+E on Windows. Open the command bar, enter the task, set its date, and return to your reply.
Would that work for you, or is automatically linking the task back to the email an essential part of what you need?

I am sorry but that is not the best way to do this. I used to use Clear Context add-in for Outlook and tasks could be created right in the email much faster. That is what I need. Can you please consider adding this feature to your program? This is a premium product. Thank you.

Thanks, John. Understood: you want to create the task directly inside the email you’re composing, and the command bar doesn’t meet that need. We’ll keep this request for consideration, but we haven’t committed to building it or set a timeline.
