Allow Aki to Add Links Directly to the Task Link Field

Right now, Aki can only place links inside the task title or description. It would be incredibly helpful if Aki could populate the dedicated Link field in the task editor. This is a low-effort, high-value improvement that would make tasks cleaner, more structured, and easier to work with especially when Aki extracts URLs from emails, webpages, or notes.

This would streamline task creation and reduce manual editing.

Are you on a Mac? If so, then it already works for webpages and for email you can add a workaround by using Apple Shortcuts and Apple Script:

    Webpages:
    - On the webpage select a text and hit command + c to copy it

    - Open the Akiflow Command Bar with option + space

    - Write a title for the task and hit enter

    Apple Mail:
    - Select an email in Apple mail
    - Run the shortcut
    - Open Akiflow Command bar with option + space
    - Write a title for the task and hit enter

With both, you get a task with a title and a correct link created in Akiflow.

The apple script within the shortcut is:

on run {input, parameters} tell application "Mail" set _sel to get selection if _sel is {} then return
set _msg to item 1 of _sel
set _rawID to message id of _msg
    end tell

-- If the message id is wrapped in angle brackets, e.g. "<abc@foo>"
-- → remove the first and last character
if (_rawID starts with "<") and (_rawID ends with ">") then
set _cleanID to text 2 thru -2 of _rawID
    else
    	set _cleanID to _rawID
    end if

-- Build the correct message:// URL
    set _messageURL to "message://%3c" & _cleanID & "%3e"

-- Store only the URL in the clipboard (Akiflow requires a clean URL)
    set the clipboard to _messageURL
    end run

    I’m on Mac OS Tahoe
