Task Attachments are currently in early access, with manual uploads supported on desktop, web and mobile for enabled accounts. This upcoming version (2.81) supports up to 10 files per task, with a 25 MB limit per file. Attachments imported from other services and attachments on calendar events are not included. If those are important to your workflow, please share how you would use them.
We started rolling out new version 2.81 today and this feature will be available to everyone by the end of next week. If you don’t see the feature once you update to the latest 2.81 version, please wait a bit, you will get it by the end of next week. Thanks to everyone who shared your feedback here and to everyone who provided feedback while beta testing this feature! Your feedback made this feature possible and better.

Fantastic! Can you let us know how to know whether we’ve got it? My Akiflow just updated to the latest version, I think (2.81.8) but I’m not seeing any options to add attachments yet. For me, this will be so helpful for attachment-related tasks if it’s easy to capture things. A common one would be a paper bill that I need to attend to — quick scan at home and then I can deal with it anywhere. Have a great scanner built in — one that easily auto-captures when a document is lined up — would be very helpful.
A suggestion I’ve not seen implemented anywhere else: It would be really nice to have would be the option to drag a file onto an open task (or even a closed one!) so that we’ve I’ve taken a photo of a card, billboard, or some other relevant image, we’d be able just to drag that into the task. Thanks!!

@Dodge yes, you are on the right app version. Task Attachments feature is rolling out to everyone in batches, so by early next week, everyone should have it. Please wait, nothing to do on your side.
We do have an option on Mobile app to use your phone camera to take a photo of the paper bill you mentioned, but we do not have a scanner built in.
Also, you will be able to drag an attachment to any opened task to add attachment or on mobile, you could use “share sheet” to create a task out of attachment.

Task Attachments early access is open 🎉
You’ve been asking for a native way to keep screenshots, images, PDFs, receipts, and other files with the tasks they belong to. We’re now inviting a group of active Akiflow users to test the first version (in beta).
We’re looking for people who will:
Use Task Attachments in their real, everyday work
Report bugs and confusing behavior
Share honest feedback and missing workflows in our Slack channel, #task-attachments
Please enter the exact email you use to sign in to Akiflow, we need it to enable the feature for your account. We’ll enable access in small batches and email you when yours is ready.
Thank you to everyone who has shared their workflows and kept pushing for this feature. We’re excited to shape it with you! 💜

This is the primary reason why I have stuck with Todoist for so long. Being able to attach files is SO convenient. Keeps my desktop clean, and makes it easy to do research and complete projects by keeping files with the task. Please expand support to attach any kind of file though, not just images, and please do not cap uploads to anything less than 2GB per upload.
Stretch feature request is the ability to preview uploaded files directly in Akiflow: Example, be able to playback videos, gifs, audio files. View pictures pdfs, etc without having to download to phone or desktop storage and then opening with 3rd party viewer although that should still be an option.

Jeson P The second concern would be in Akiflow, I often do research or create assets for projects, and it would be very nice to be able to view them inside Akiflow without having to use 3rd party software. Uploading downloading and viewing files with 3rd party applications is not difficult on desktops once default app configs are set up (I use OpinIn for more flexibility) but it's painful on Mobile devices.

This will greatly increase my ability to stick with Akiflow full time. As it is, I have to hassle with todoist capture a lot (scanned bills to pay, a business card to enter later, a product to buy at the store, etc) and then link back to get to the files. I end up wondering why I’m double-managing my life. Can’t wait to see this added! Especially via the iOS app. Please consider making this a development priority. 🙏🏼

You may well be aware of it, but there is an app called Hookmark that gives you a clumsy workaround, but you can hook files and paste them into Akiflow it’s just extra steps

Yes. I often take a screenshot on the fly. Now I cannot add it to a task unless linked to imgur or something. Please add this. Voted.
