Focus on the fundamentals (Not Aki...)
With Aki launched and able to do a solid job, I strongly encourage the product management team to deprioritize continued AI development and go back to addressing the fundamentals.
Things like subtasks, native apps, or simple kanban/project views are basic and fundamentally expected items for nearly all free or low-cost task or project managers. The top of the feedback list is chock full of requests for simple features that are industry standards for tools with substantially lower price points.
I think that most users can understand waiting while other efforts are prioritized. However, consistently ignoring the most highly requested, basic industry features for years on end is concerning, especially given there is still no apparent desire to address them. Akiflow could implement the world’s best AI tomorrow, or have the world’s most integrations, but it will always have a low ceiling if it is built upon a limited foundation that is consistently beaten by free competitors.
I love the functionality of Akiflow. There is obviously a reason I chose it in the first place. You guys have nailed the harder stuff. But please, consider addressing the simple things people have been asking you about for years…
-Sincerely, a passionate user.

Yes, please! Really resonate with @Davis Goodrich and @Basant ElGhayati here. There are features that have been ignored for over 4 YEARS: (apple calendar integration, subtasks, time tracker, someday page review, plan a task multiple times). All of them have over 400 upvotes.
It’s crazy to me that, despite having all of these high-quality feedback from your current users, the team insists on workin on AI (most often, unrequested) features instead of focusing on the ones that we’ve been desperately asking for, for years!
We all understand that AI is the next big thing and every company under the sun wants to implement it in some way, but you can just read through the comments under all of those (previously mentioned) requests, AI comes second in our list of priorities, not first.
I think we’re all puzzled as to why the team is focused on adding more features, instead of making the product better, and in that way, turning all of us into your brand ambassadors. At this point it should be evident that keeping your customers is always cheaper than acquiring new ones, and addressing these basic features that are being requested, should be number one on the priority list.
Masterclasses on current features are not enough, we really just want to see the product improve in the direction it has been requested for so long.
Akiflow is a fantastic product and we all love using it, otherwise, we would’ve turn to any of your competitors long ago.
Akiflow has a huge community that’s investing their resources in it, because we want to see this app succeed, we just ask that you seriously consider our requests when we make them, not just log them away, to be ignored for years to come.
Thanks for all the work the team does, we really appreciate it! @Tadej J.

Hi @Davis Goodrich
Thank you for your thoughtful feedback!
I want to better understand how these features you mentioned would transform your workflow:
On subtasks: You mentioned this as a fundamental feature. Today, some users work around this using Time Slots (grouping tasks together) or checklists within task descriptions. Have you tried these approaches? I'm curious what specific limitations you're hitting that these workarounds don't solve.
On Kanban/project views: Help me understand your ideal view. Are you looking for a board to visualize project stages (To Do → In Progress → Done)? Or is it more about seeing all tasks grouped by project without the calendar? What would make this view valuable beyond what you can currently do with Projects + filters?
On native apps: Are you experiencing performance issues with the current desktop app, or mobile app?
The reason I'm asking is that we want to ensure we're solving the right problems in the right way.
Would you be open to a quick 15-minute call to discuss?
Thanks!

I really resonate with what@Davis Goodrich is expressing here. I also chose Akiflow because it’s a sophisticated product that rivals some of the best tools in this category, like Sunsama.
That said, I think this post captures a real frustration many of us feel. In my case, one very concrete example is the inability to filter tasks in the Calendar view, a capability that exists in much less sophisticated task management apps. Currently, only events can be filtered by imported calendar, while tasks cannot be filtered in the Calendar view at all. For users who rely heavily on visual time blocking, this is not a “nice to have” feature. It directly impacts day-to-day planning and execution.
This type of foundational functionality makes or breaks whether Akiflow can truly serve as a daily command center, regardless of how powerful AI features or integrations become. I genuinely love Akiflow and want to keep using it, but gaps like this are what push users to consider alternatives.
I appreciate you engaging and asking these questions. Even knowing whether improvements like this are planned or on the roadmap would go a long way for many of us.

@Tadej J. could we please have an update on which improvements were made?
