Gmail: Import more information
When I look at my inbox in Akiflow and see my starred emails from Gmail, I'd like to see more than just the subject and the person who sent the email? I.e., I work with about 10 people who are all testing a prototype for my company, so all the subject lines for those emails are the same. If I could see at least 2-3 other names of people who were sent that email, that would be really helpful for this feature.

This is an ESSENTIAL element. It saves me a lot of time to remind myself what the email was even about without having to click the link. Sometimes action doesn't need to be taken immediately, but its hard to know that without being able to read the body of the email in the task description.

Andrew: I've been considering Sunsama for just this feature and the similar Notion integration features. I really, really disliked a lot of things about Sunsama, but the integrations were so good.

It would be nice to have the text of the email drop into the description automatically. I would like to train everyone to use better subject lines, but I don't think I can accomplish this. hahaha

Amy: I believe this should be a priority. I don't see Gmail integration as full integration when the only things it gets are the subject and the link to the email.
I often have to copy the email body after tagging the email with Akiflow label.

BTW, TickTick allows me to forward full emails into their program and I am paying $ 2.79 a month for their task management with embedded pomodoro.

It is August 2023. I see that more integration with Outlook is on the roadmap, but I do not see anything about Gmail. Is this even being considered?

Amy: Hi Amy, thanks for your feedback. Having a quick shortcut (the letter O) to jump to the right email and see more information, this is not our top priority at the moment. But we do consider this and I'll keep you posted about this request!

Stefania: This is also extremely important to me. If the Gmail integration worked the same way as it does in Sunsama, I would unquestionably be willing to pay extra for that feature. Opening a separate app to see an email is exactly what I'm trying to avoid in a task manager. Email inboxes are loaded with distractions, and opening a new browser tab on my old laptop for every email is not quick.

I know this is an old thread, but I think it's worth bringing back.
I’m frustrated with the process of adding details to emails in Akiflow after I’ve starred them in Gmail. I often need to bounce back to Gmail during my planning sessions because I don’t get full context for the email within Akiflow to set things such as plan dates, deadlines, etc. As someone with ADHD and distraction issues, constant context switching is frustrating. I use Akiflow as an aggregator to stay focused on organizing my actions.
The quick keyboard shortcut is helpful, but it would be better if we could view the full context in Akiflow when we star an email in Gmail. This would allow us to change the task name and add notes without bouncing back to Gmail, especially during daily or weekly planning sessions.

For my flagged email, NEED to see the email message in the description of the task
This is never frustrating. I cannot see what the email is about and have to click on a new link, log in to another site, and come back to the task to even know what it’s for. Come on, guys, this is a simple, important. Why do I have to go through a complicated Zapier process just to do this? This should be the first thing completed in Aki.
