On pinned tasks, provide un unpin icon next to the lock icon and also add unpin to the right click context menu

Matt: Hi Matt, you can use backspace on a task in calendar as well to unplan it. You'll see a popup asking you for confirmation, use tab and enter to confirm! Thanks for your feedback, we'll consider adding an icon to remove the task from the calendar.
