Hi everyone, we just released a toggle in every tasklist view to turn on the new Compact view!

It hides the second line of every task for a more streamlined layout!

Let me know if you like it:) -> https://product.akiflow.com/changelog

Jeson P, thank you so much. Of all things to end up mattering greatly, it surprises me (and seems rather silly) that this one is basically a deal-breaker for me. I just find the additional clutter stressful to look at and use other apps to avoid it . I'm trying to find a work-around where I never use notes or links, but then I can't import from anywhere or connect a link or email to a task. I can come back if it ends up being fixed but would sure like to stay! 😕

Thank you, Ron! I was just coming to add this myself. I keep pestering the poor Akiflow designers and developers to give us the option for a less cluttered list where links and note details are hidden if we prefer. Glad to hear you're looking for the same.

Many don't know this but everyone can feel it: we can't help but read any text in front of us, at least unconsciously. That's actually a thing; the perceptual psychology experiments on how distracting this is are amazing. So when we have links and notes under our tasks all day, it doesn't just look more cluttered, it literally takes more energy to look at it because we keep reading the irrelevant text.

Check out this mock day I drew up based on Elton John's famous (and hilarious) 1970's journal entry. Doesn't the simpler view look and feel way better? Which is more approachable? (And who needs to see links, anyway?)

Hiding the details isn't hard. Just an up/down arrow to hide/reveal would work, as would hiding them until we open the task. And that can be an optional view, so others can see all the extras at once if they want.

Anyway, sory so long! Hope this will get some votes, or just a kind designer who starts realizing their OWN Akiflow page could be far cleaner. :)
