I would be nice if the time was shown more clearly so you don't have to hover on it to see.

Stefania this is a nice start! But I do agree with Beth and was hoping for more visibility at a glance without having to hover over each.

    Even a simple “1h45m / 3h” would be fine.

Better yet, a subtle darker shade of bg-color that represents the amount allocated in that time slot.

i.e. 1h/2h allocated would be shaded from the top down to 50%, 1.5h/2h would fill to 75%, and over budgeted time slots could simply have a squiggly bottom or chevron pointing down.

Just thinking out loud here, but I’m happy we have this update for now.

Matt Thomas This is exactly what I was also wishing for -> visual indicator of "how full it is"

Hi everyone, we just released a new version of the app where on hover on any Time Slot you see the total tasks duration and how many tasks are completed vs planned. Let me know what you think :)

Stefania Same as the other users pointed out above -> I was also wishing for -> visual indicator of "how full it is" that is visible on glance and not only on hover.

I agree with everyone on this post about showing the % used up, and time over budgeted in a time slot etc. It's helpful that time slots have a little # of tasks in the corner but it doesn't really indicate how much of that time block I've already budgeted.

I came to say that I REALLY like that the time slot does not show all the tasks that are in it unless I click on it. I know that someone suggested showing the tasks sort of like calendar lines but that would really clutter up the page and become overwhelming. One of the nicest things about this app is that I can neatly tuck tasks into time blocks and not have to look at them until I'm ready to dive in.

I came to this board specifically to find this feature request (assuming it already existed) and +1 it.

I love the time block feature. It works with the way my brain works. However, It's way too easy to have a 2 hour time block that I've put 4 hours worth of tasks inside.

What if the task block changed colors or popped up a warning when it's over-filled?

I'd also love if it could auto-suggest tasks that can put inside based on project, priority, and allotted time.

Judi: That sounds fantastic! We’ll share these details with our team as they work on enhancing the timeslot feature.

Judi Great point, and great suggestion about it changing color. You made a point on Slack that TimeSlots can feel borderline 'dangerous' without this warning, and I really see that point. It's so easy to toss things into coming slots with no idea that it won't be possible to complete them then. On a calendar itself, a time-blocked hour is seen as booked, but TimeSlots are infinitely deep, so it's not clear when they're full. Thanks for pushing this point!

This would be super helpful. Also, the option to have an alert if I've over-allocated tasks to a slot (i.e. total duration of the tasks I've added to the slot exceeds the slot length)

A percentage might also be cool. You could then see if you're overallocated.

+1 seeing how much time left in a slot, and some visual alert if you're exceeding it!

In fact, it's a bit of a pain to organize tasks within slots today…

It'd be awesome to have the option to open up a view of the slot where you can see "the inside" as a calendar and drag&drop your tasks, resize them, etc, inside the slot.

Once you go back to the normal calendar view, the slot shows as a single block again.

This view could replace (or complement) the "Pinned" view, which is not that useful now, since it's just a list of tasks, so making adjustments to order and duration is not as easy as in a calendar view. Also note that many times all tasks in a slot belong to the same project, so you most likely can find the same tasks listed in the project page anyway…
