Turning a task or a slot to event and vice versa

Sometimes we make a mistake by creating a task instead of an event. It would be good if we can switch.

I would love this feature as well! Often I block time by adding an event to my calendar. When starting my day I realise that these are actually tasks and I want to be able to check them off. Now, I have to copy the title and description, remove the event and create a task with the copied title and description. Would be amazing if I could do this from the context menu.

I highly support this feature because sometimes I import my events from various calendars. I want to make those events actually converted into either task or timeslot.

It would be really awesome to get this feature. A lot of times I have external tools create calendar events for something which I would like to handle as a task. For this it would be nice if I can just use the external tools as normal, and then just go into Akiflow and convert it.

Something I guess should be kept in mind is the information a calendar event can have, that the tasks/slots currently lack e.g. location. I think in general it would be neat to have location and perhaps other event info on the task itself, but in any case if conversions should take place, the converting back and forth would need a way to transfer all the info from one to the other.

Hi Dawid! Thank you for sharing your request, I have met quite a lot of people who would love this feature. If I ever run into them again, I'll tell them to add their vote to this!

This is something that happens to me very often. I would love to be able to convert from one to the other without having to do it manually

This is necessary for me to know how much time I have to work each day.

Louis Isaac: Hi Louis, thanks for your message! How do you use this information? On your daily planning (or shutdown) ritual you have the sum of the time allocated for tasks and events, is this helpful?

Stefania: not really because things change as the day starts moving. At 2pm I need to know how much work I have left for the day, including calendar events.

    Any news on this one?

I have multiple events that I like to plan differently and being able to convert an Event into a Task would avoid doubling the work.

For example, I have an event to attend, it was generated automatically by the ticket seller. I'd love to have subtasks to complete, set priority, set as a goal for the day, etc. It would be more convenient if Akiflow could turn into a task and simply "Replace" the current event without even needing to confirm. Just replace it and show as a task in Akiflow. ❤️

I second that. It't not purely about making a mistake either. Also it is not possible to create a task in the "Inbox" or in "Today" and convert it to an event once dragged into the calendar. Having to follow different workflows to create different things is cumbersome, especially if we have to recreate tasks or events in case I made an error.

if you imported and event from a gcal, realised you wanted it to be a task, switched it to a task, then ticked it off, it could be automatically removed from your google calendar.
Looking into that, it seems that isn't currently a function. I'm imagining an option here that says "remove from Akiflow calendar and Gcal":
